Moulana Abid Bilgrami

        Maulana Abid Bilgrami was born in Mian Channu, Khanewal, on the 1st of October, 1953. He is a world-famous, religious scholar, public speaker, member of the Tablighi Jamaat, and a preacher from Pakistan. Maulana Tariq Jameel’s father comes from a community of Muslim Rajputs. He served in the agriculture sector, having his lands and was a well-respected person in the agricultural market and the locality he resided. Today, Maulana Tariq Jameel holds tremendous respect in the eyes of people and holds a prominent position in the list of popular speakers in the 2013/14 edition of the book, The Muslim 500.

Career

Tariq Jamil has delivered religious sermons all around the world and represents Deobandi. He supports ethnic and sectarian harmony. Jamil has been named continuously as one as of The 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world by the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in Jordan from 2013 to 2019.

Influence

In January 2014, Pakistani actress Veena Malik said her interaction with Tariq Jamil had positively changed her life, and that she would quit the show-biz industry. Although she did not leave the industry and said, she was planning her comeback after the birth of her girl. According to news reports, Tariq Jamil met Imran Khan in August 2014 and advised him to conduct his Azadi March peacefully. Upon his request, she renamed the march from Tsunami March to Azadi March.

On the 4th of November 2014, he called on Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif at the latter’s residence Jati Umra. He extended the invitation to participate in annual Tableeghi Ijtima to be held in Raiwind Markaz.
