Sheikh Assim bin Luqman al-Hakeem ( Arabic : عاصم بن القمان الحكيم; born November 23, 1962) is a scholar based in Saudi Arabia. Assim is famous as one of the English-speaking Islamic preachers in Saudi Arabia . Assim al-Hakeem gained high popularity through his question and answer sessions which are usually uploaded through social media .
Sheikh Assim Al-Hakeem is one of the prominent propagators of Islam in English in Saudi Arabia. He is a Saudi National and resides in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
He got his B.A in linguistics from King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah in 1987, and later on he had a High diploma in Islamic studies from Umm Al Qura University in Makkah in 1998. Apart from his da’wah activities, Sheikh Assim started his Work Experience in 1988 as an English teacher for High school, and then changed his career by taking up different positions in the field of Human Resources and Public Relations. He is working now as HR; PR Director at one of the leading companies in Saudi Arabia in the fields of rock cutting, earthmoving and mining.
Sheikh Assim travels often to Europe, Asia; the Middle East for delivering Islamic lectures by invitation of local and international organizations.He is a visiting speaker for Mercy Mission’s ‘Twins of Faith’ conferences and AlKauthar is delighted to have him join our instructor team.
Personal life
Assim Al-Hakeem is married and has children. He is a respected figure within the Muslim community and is known for his commitment to traditional Islamic scholarship and his efforts to promote understanding and dialogue between different communities. Assim Al-Hakeem is a prominent Islamic scholar, teacher and one of the prominent propagators of Islam in English in Saudi Arabia. He is a well-known speaker and has been invited to speak at many events around the world, including at universities, mosques, and Islamic centres.
Sheikh Assim works 8-9 hours a day. In his spare time, Assim also goes to the gym four days a week, plays squash , table tennis and badminton . In class, he teaches various books, and then returns home to spend time with his family. Assim stated that he was able to spend 95% of his time with his family.
Education
Assim Al-Hakeem was born in Saudi Arabia in 1962. He grew up in a religious family and was interested in Islamic studies from a young age. In 1987 he obtained his B.A in Linguistics from King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah. He later graduated with a High Diploma in Islamic Studies from Umm al-Qura University in Makkah, Saudi Arabia in 1998. Assim has also studied the books of scholars Ibn Utsaimin for several years.

Sheikh Assim began his career in 1988 by working as an English teacher in a secondary school. He is the imam of a mosque in Jeddah, a role he has held for the past 20 years, where he preaches Friday prayers and gives lectures on Islamic knowledge.
Sheikh Assim al-Hakeem is proficient in English in Islamic preaching, and usually participates in and manages English-language Islamic program events on social media, such as Questions and Answers ( Ask Huda ), Umdatul Ahkaam , Youth Talk and Mercy to the Worlds . Assim also preaches on various television and radio channels such as Al Huda , Peace TV , Iqraa (Arabic) and Saudi channel 2 .
Assim also often visits Europe, Asia and the Middle East to deliver Islamic talks at the invitation of various organizations, with most of the talks being uploaded to YouTube .
After completing his studies, Al-Hakeem began teaching and giving lectures on Islam. He regularly participates in Islamic media programs in both Arabic and English, spreading the authentic teachings of the Quran and Sunnah through appearances on Islamic radio and television. This includes hosting a popular weekly Q&A session on Huda TV and appearing on Peace TV.
